Cub Scouts

Cub Scout Pack 84 is part of the Calcasieu Area Council, BSA and chartered by FBC-Sulphur. The Vision Statement for Pack 84 is A Christ centered enviroment for building young men through the Cub Scout Program. Since starting out in 2002 with eight cub scouts, Pack 84 now averages between 45 and 60 Cub scouts and is led by nearly a dozen volunteers. The unit is supported greatly by FBC Sulphur as well as our scout families. Our excellent program continues to attract many parents looking to have their young men enjoy the wonderful experiences Scouting offers.
Pack 84 not only teaches the boys scouting skills, but also community service. Our Cubs have collected goods for Calcasieu Area Council’s “Scouting for Food”, “Toys for Tots”, packed shoeboxes for “Operation Christmas Child”, led local Elementary Schools in the Pledge for their Veteran’s Day Programs, and picked up litter along Huntington Street.
As a result, Pack 84 continues to receive awards and recognitions each year including, “Quality Unit Award”, “National Summertime Pack Activity Award”, and is recognized by the Association of Baptists for Scouting with the “Baptist Unit Award of Excellence”.
Cub Scouts is for boys in grades 1 – 5.
We meet on Mondays during the school year at 6 p.m.

Upon completion of their Arrow of Light award and/or the 5th Grade, Cub Scouts have the opportunity to join a Boy Scout Troop.
It is my hope that each of our Cubs will continue in Scouting.
Troop 84 also meets at FBC Sulphur on Monday nights and offers its members a wide range of activities throughout the year.
