Cub Scout Pack 84 is part of the Calcasieu Area Council, BSA and chartered by FBC-Sulphur. The Vision Statement for Pack 84 is
A Christ centered enviroment for building young men through the Cub Scout Program.
Since starting out in 2002 with eight cub scouts, Pack 84 now averages between 45 and 60 Cub scouts and is led by nearly a dozen volunteers. The unit is supported greatly by FBC Sulphur as well as our scout families. Our excellent program continues to attract many parents looking to have their young men enjoy the wonderful experiences Scouting offers.
Pack 84 not only teaches the boys scouting skills, but also community service. Recently, the boys have collected goods for KPLC's "Community Christmas" and Calcasieu Area Council's "Scouting for Food". They led a recent City Council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance and helped R.W. Vincent Elementary with their Veteran's Day Program.
As a result, Pack 84 continues to receive awards and recognitions each year including, "Quality Unit Award", "National Summertime Pack Activity Award", and is recognized by the Association of Baptists for Scouting with the "Baptist Unit Award of Excellence".
