Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 84 is part of the Calcasieu Area Council, BSA and chartered by FBC-Sulphur. The Vision Statement for Troop 84 is A Christ centered environment to learn the life skills of the Scout Oath and Law. Our unit averages between 15 and 20 young men and is led by nearly a dozen volunteers. The unit is supported greatly by FBC Sulphur as well as our scout families. Our excellent program continues to attract many parents looking to have their young men enjoy the wonderful experiences Scouting offers.

Troop 84 teaches the boys scouting skills, community service, and leadership. Our Scouts have collected goods for “Operation Christmas Child”, led local programs with the Pledge, and picked up litter along the lake front. Troop 84 has attended Summer Camps and Winter Camps for the past 10 years where the boys continue to learn scout skills and merit badges. Many of our young men gain their first experience in a leadership position as a scout long before they have the opportunity at school.

As a result, Troop 84 continues to receive awards and recognitions each year including, “Quality Unit Award”, Camping Awards, and is recognized by the Association of Baptists for Scouting with the “Baptist Unit Award of Excellence”.

Boy Scouting is for boys 11 to 18 years old.
