Biographical Sketch
James came to FBCS in 1988.  James had a life-changing experience in 1975 while on a youth mission trip.  While attending Texas A & M, he surrendered his life to the ministry.  After graduating from Texas A & M, he received his Masters of Religious Education degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary.  James and his wife, Mary Ellen, have two sons.

Biographical Sketch
Tom Bruce, a native of Sulphur, graduated Sulphur High School in 1985 and enrolled in McNeese State University in 1989 to pursue a Business degree.  While at McNeese, Tom experienced God’s call into student ministry.  Soon after, he began making plans to pursue that calling.  He had the privilege of starting his new ministry at Belview Baptist Church in Westlake from 1987 to 1989.
 
After graduating McNeese in 1989, Tom moved to Texas where he enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  During his seminary career, Tom worked with the YMCA, served as part time youth minister in several area churches, and met his wife, Amy.  Tom and Amy both graduated SWBTS in 1994. 
While in Texas, Tom served as Minister of Youth and Education at Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline for five years, and as Minister of Youth at Central Baptist Church in Bryan.  Tom returned to his home church in May 2001 where he now serves as Minister of Youth and Family Activities.  Tom and Amy have two children:  Joel and Hannah .

Biographical Sketch 
Amy Bruce has served as Children’s Minister at FBCS since January 2002. She is a native of Mobile, Alabama where she graduated from the University of Mobile with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  She went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Children’s Ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
 
While in Fort Worth, Amy met and married her husband, Tom.  Amy and Tom have two children, Joel, born in 1997 and Hannah, born in 2000.
 

 

Donald W. Dukes

Biographical Sketch 
Donald W. Dukes is originally from Meridian, MS.    He earned an Associate Degree in Church Music from Clarke College and a Bachelor Degree in Church Music from Mississippi College.   He went on to earn his Master Degree in Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. 
 
After college, Donald served at Denham Springs (1980 - 1985) and First Jennings (1985 - 1995).  He came to serve at First Baptist Church of Sulphur in 1995.
 
He has lived in Louisiana since 1978 with his loving wife, Cindi.  They have two children, David & Donna.
